MrsBee (son) I don't think they would give her chemo without the test and they can do that at the hospital. As Lou Ann said, she had always gotten hers the day of and I have showed up not knowing if it would be high enough so it was tested then.
You are correct, she is not the first one this has happened to. Try not to worry about it and show up tomorrow.
Good luck
My mother went to her first pulmanologist appt today.
She's half way through her 6 chemos-getting ready to do a month of radiation before last 3 chemos.
The Pulmanologist (no idea how to spell it!) said he thought she had the uterin cancer in her lungs-
though he said her lungs sounded very clear and the nodules were too small to biopsy.
Couldn't say 100% but thought that they were cancer from looking at original petscan.
He also said that her current chemo might be keeping them tiny.
She looks really good-does not get short of breath and doesn't have any cough.
Of course I'm scarred to death to hear this sort of thing!
The dr that operated said from what he saw when operating was not in keeping with a cancer that would've spread
to the lungs-that the noduels were probably not cancer.
My mother's going back this Monday to get another Catscan to see if noduels have changed since last pictures.
If her cancer has spread to her lungs-can't she still be alright eventually?

So Mom's almost halfway through Radiation therapy-25-28 daily treatments set between first 3 and last 3 chemo treatments.
It's been over a month and she's wondering why her hair hasn't started to grow back.
Is it that for some-hair doesn't come back after chemo-or does radiation also block hair growth.
BTW, she's weathering the radiation very well-up and doing normal househild things she wasn't doing during
chemo. I was prepared for much worse!

I believe there is some variation as to how soon hair grows back after carbo/taxol chemo treatment, but in my case it was at least three to four months, maybe a bit longer until it was really noticeable. I lost my hair within the first three weeks of starting treatment and was shiny bald, not so bad with a blond wig when I wanted to be less conspicuous. I always slept with a hat as I did feel cold at night. In short, I suspect your mom will have to wait longer for her hair to return.

The time for it to come back does vary greatly. Mine began coming back noticeably (instead of just wishful thinking coming back) between 5-6 weeks post chemo, but it does take some women longer. The radiation shouldn't affect her hair. Glad to hear that she is weathering that well so far.

I was on the same treatment plan as you mom, and My hair did not state to grow during the time I was on radiation. It did start to return about 4 weeks after I finished the last 3 rounds of chemo. Every body is a little differnent, sometimes it takes longer. Hugs and prayers for both of you. Lou Ann

It's been almost eight weeks since the last chemo and my hair hasn't started to grow back yet. As a matter-of-fact, I'm still losing some of my eyebrows. Hopefully, your mom's hair will come back after her last chemo!!

Well my mom's hair started growing back but now she suddenly getting very bad diarrhea.
She had to miss yesterday's radiation treatment but managed to go to today's.
She's been doing so well until yesterday-only about a week and a half of radiation left and
she was so much back to her old self-cooking, sewing, eating well-even driving again!
She's eating a few Activia Yogurts a day now-and they gave her some kind of medicine for it,
but she still didn't feel that great this morning.
I'm guessing this is a common problem.

I made Imodium my best friend and really stayed on a bland diet and I survived that. Hugs and prayers for you and your mom. Lou Ann
