Update - good news

Hello all;

Just got news from Stanford that my last CT scan was good - NED and the CEA is below 1. This is after a stage 4 dx nine years ago. I wish I had a magic receipe to share with all.  Celebrated briefly.... took the dogs to the park... fixed dinner and now the wife and kids can breathe easier for the next year. I am grateful, humble and happy but always as a science teacher unsure why I am where I am and others are not. I know for those newly dx, it was always great to hear from long term "survivors".  I have loved the recent weather in CA and can't help but put on REO  Speedwagon, "Riding the Storm" out as I took the 5 hour drive north to Stanford starting at 3:00 am. That fades in the Stones "Gimme Shelter" and the lyrics:

Oh, a storm is threat'ning
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away

Thanks to all for helping be that shelter over the years. I wish I wrote more here but after the first 6 years... it just got tough... I still read and check in. I will try to do more but to those suffering, there is still hope.

All my best , always

Chip

    I heard

    at 10 years they use the word "cure." Whoopee! I grew up in Ventura, 6 hours south of Stanford. Love the California coast.

    A ray of hope

    for all of us earlier in our survival.  Thanks for still being here and posting.

    Would you consider updating your profile. I think a lot of us construct it when we

    join and when we feel the need to reflect on the healing phase. The living time

    is a gift worth sharing as well. Would love to hear that part of the story.

    As of today, I'm riding with you Chip, all clear scan and a 2.0 cea, 8 1/2 years out. 4 months to the next scan, then 6, then a year, if all goes well. If it's just luck, I'll take it, I've had enough of the wrong kind for quite a while....................................Dave
