Test Day

Wow! Two very long days at the hospital, but what started out very scary ended up awesome! While riding home from the day's testing, I received a call from the doctor telling me my blood tests were abnormal (possibly indicating pancreatic cancer) and that I needed to be back up to the hospital the next morning. New blood tests the next day had the values back to normal (one was 500 x higher than norm and one was 200 x)! They couldn't believe or understand it! Of course I told them I had lots of people praying for me. Had to wait for all the MRIs and CT scan results which showed no cancer! Pancreas looked great, lung CT unchanged, and no new liver tumors, woo hoo! I will begin the Votrient blind study drug trial within the next week or so.
Fox I'm so happy for you that you do not have the added issue of chronic kidney disease as well. It does make treatment a little more complicated. I was happy my gfr went up from 43 to 47 (creatinine 1.2). You are doing a great job keeping us inspired!

Glad things turned out well with lots of people praying for you, and thinking positive thoughts you were bound to get good news. Keep up the positve vibes and and enjoy the break from worry.

I am amazed that the sickest here get great numbers with their blood work, with the younger healthier not so much. My creatinine is .7 and gfr over 60. Like a healthy 20yo with 2 kidneys. Makes no sense. My latest blood work somehow demonstrates all numbers within acceptable range for all tests. My current supplemental drugs are only for bp and my thyroid. How different we all are.
Hey hope all is well for you , I was wondering ,did you have to take tyroild meds alfter the dr dx you with kidney cancer.? thanks for all your positive imputs.

I've been on thyroid meds since spring 2015. With my numbers now within normal range, I cannot tell the difference.

Great news, happy to hear! I can't imagine getting the info about possible pancreatic cancer - this one is one of the worst, I'd get a heart attack, I guess...
Maybe they've done smth wrong with blood sample before analysis, I've heard from one hematologist that sometimes this happens and changes the results abnormally, causing unnecessary worries
