My Mom's Surgery
My mom goes into the hospital on Tuesday for a hystirectomy; the good part is that we made it to surgery and her tumor shrunk by half. She is now cureative instead of controlable. The hard part is that I am more scared now then when she first got diagnosed, it is really hard to see my mom this way and I have no idea how to make it better. I am trying to stay positive but I am slowly getting tired. Now instead of me giving my mother pep talks she is giving them to me. She barely eats and I don't have any ideas on how to put weight on her. I would love any suggestiond about this.

melwithbooks, I can't even
melwithbooks, I can't even begin to imagine what my family was thinking or dealing with my disease, but I know it had to be hard on them. I know it was hard to see me in pain after surgery and bald from treatment, and I did have to force myself to eat as it was the only thing I could do to help myself.
Is there a dietician at the hospital who may be able to talk to her and let her know how important keeping her weight up? It might be better if it came from someone outside the family who regularly works with people in treatment and recovery. Just a thought you might want to ask more about.
So happy to hear about the tumor shrinking and please let us know how surgery goes.

Eating
When I can't seem to eat, I sometimes can manage a fruit smoothy. You can add protien powdwe to it to make it a little healthier. Milk shakes also work sometime, protein drinks like Ensure and Boost, and I used to be able to eat pizza. Hugs and prayers to you and your mom, Lou Ann
