Pain?
Does anyone take anything else besides motrin for muscle/bone pain? I don't want to necessarily get started on stronger pain pills that cause other problems, but nothing I'm doing is helping and it's increasing. I walked on the treadmill this morning, took a hot shower, sat with a heating pad, massaged my legs, NOTHING! My legs feel like they're jumping with pain. Sorry, I'm never this bad, don't know what to do on a Sunday.

My leg pain was horrible withjoyce6611 said:pain in the legs
I have pain just like yours. It starts 3 days after my chemo. I sit in a hot tub of water with some epson salt. It really helps me with the pain.
My leg pain was horrible with Chemo 3 and 4. I took Advil which helped but it never got rid of it. My oncologist's PA suggested I take half a pill of my Oxycodone to see if it would help. I had a bunch of it leftover from my hysterectomy because I didn't use it - I didn't like the way it made me feel. So, I liked her suggestion on trying to do just half a pill. However, with chemo 5, I didn't have much bone or joint pain at all. Very welcome surprise. So, if you have any meds left from your surgery, you may want to consider trying it.
Sorry for your pain! It will pass I promise.
Love and Hugs,
Cindi

Pain
I take 1 Hydrocodone late evening for about 3 days when the bone pain hits. I also didn't want to take anything that strong, but finally gave in. And I figure 3 a time isn't to much.
hope you get some relief, although tyhose days should be over soon, thank goodness.
Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

I'm going to break down and go get my prescription for Hydrocodene that I never picked up from my surgery. I agree that if I use it as little as possible, it will be OK. I was able to lay down and get an hours sleep, so I think it's maybe going to get better. Phew, I'm so glad I have friends like you girls to help me reason things out. When I'm in pain, I don't know if I think as clearly. Better days ahead, Nancy

Pain in legs
Greetings~ I had the same pain in my legs and my oncologist told me to take Claritin D, the OTC allergy medicine. It works great. I take it twice a day starting the day before chemo and up to 6 days afterwards. A game changer, really fixed the problem for me. Good luck!

My oncologist suggests 10mg of Clarintin every day as needed. I had horrible bone pain last cycle (cycle 2) and didn't want to take Oxy. The Claratin seems to help though it's not entirely gone.
Claritin works for me for the Nuelasta shot. I take it all the time for allergies. It does nothing for the bone pain I get from the Taxol. There is a generic for Claritin called Loratidine that is a lot cheaper. Costco sells it in large amount for less than $5. Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann
