Same age as David Bowie, 69.

One of my favourite actors.

Two celebreties in one week. So very sad to see, but of course we know so many, many more every day are taken by this insidious disease.

    jane Austen

haha what a great movie.  We do not have netflix just the very basic cable so it is hard to get movies in our little city.......there is one video store left that rents discs and this morning I managed to snag Sense and Sensibility.  Snowing like crazy here so I plan to save up my movie for tonight.....curl up in bed and watch Colonel Brandon and Miss Maryanne.......

I am still fairly weak and in some pain from the mastecomy surgery.....facing chemo and gosh knows 5 years of hormone treatment.  Something about the very orderly mannered world of Jane Austen just soothes me and I feel for a couple of hours that all is right with the world.

    Aw Mags, I hope you're

Aw Mags, I hope you're feeling better soon. And I hope the movie takes you away for a little while at least. I remember the first time I watched it. My mom was still alive and we both enjoyed it SO much. I've watched it several times since and read the book countless times.

That being said, my daughter and I watched Robin Hood last night just to watch Alan Rickman. Who was fabulous, of course, and so good looking. I'd forgotten how badly Kevin Costner acts. Between his wooden unemotional performance and his lack of effort to even try to pull off a British accent he was just awful. And who decided to give him eighties style hair with a mullet?

    He had pancreatic cancer...

apparently had a small stroke in August and that's when they discovered it.

This one really hit me hard. He was one of my favorite actors and I looked forward to seeing him in movies for years to come. :(

Hope you feel better soon, Mags.  Take it easy and take care of yourself as much as you can (and hope you enjoyed the movie...I watched Jane Austin movies right after my cancer dx, they made me feel better as well)
