looking for advice and hope
It's been 2 yrs since I had a partial kidney nephrectomy stage 1 and a complete hysterectomy for ovarian cancer 1a followed by chemo. My cat scans have been clear for two yrs and ca-125 numbers were good. Last week my first ct scan shows two small enlarged lymph nodes in the stomach area and all my peace of mind is gone. My oncologist doesn't think they are large enough for biopsy and I may have to wait a couple of months for another ct scan to see if there is any more changes.
Has anyone else experienced this situation and how did your treatment proceed? I really am so worried and need to hear that there is hope!!!

sorry uou are feelingBubba
sorry uou are feeling concerned. There are many reasons why a lymph node can swell. Further when you have lymph nodes removed from your hysterectomy the other can become swollen. take a look at my page and you can see that I have soft tissue masses some of which are PET positive but which I have been watching for years. I also developed kidney issues
al I've been doing this for over ten years!

Hi Kathy,
I want to thank you for your brave spirit and kind heart. You are so nice to give me some hope. I have never been one much to reach out and feel sometimes so alone in this battle which I know is how some feel from time to time. I admit I am scared because I have had so much loss in my life from cancer. I was paired up with a buddy for a while during my chemo but it wasn't a real good match and never tried again with someone else to talk to.
I expect that I will be in a hold situation for those lymph nodes since they are very small (but have gotten slightly larger scince last scan) but still too tiny to get at for biopsy. I will have another scan likely in late Mar.early April . I will try and take each day at a time! And stay as calm as possible! Thank you again. Mary

Very nice to meet you, Mary.
So glad that you came on this site. It is really hard to reach out but I am glad you did. There is no question whatsoever that you cannot ask here. Sometimes you may just want to use this site to vent. I have done that when I didn't want to burden my love ones when I know they worry so much about me.
With regard to those scans, the posters here call it "Scanxiety". Whether you get them every month, 3 months 6 months, yearly or whenever, that feeling never really goes away.
Another poster here had some good advice also, but I can't remember who or what exactly were her words. But it was something like you can't change what it is by worrying about it. It is what it is.
My best to you, Mary. Please feel free to ask or vent anytime. There is always someone here to give you a hug! Moli, for one, is a good hugger!
Kathy
