Maybe colon again
Hi everyone,
I am new to these discussions; and so hoping that you will bear with me a little.
My story really started when I was 27 yrs old (many years ago); I had early stage cervical cancer and cervix was removed. Then when I was 35 years old, the gastrologist removed pre-cancer polyps requiring me to start getting those wonderful colonoscopies.
At, 38 yrs old I began have tumors popping up in my uterus and one on my right ovary. Thankfully, benign and tumors were removed. Then, each after that, I had one biopsy after another each 6 months on my uterous. Then in 2012; my doctor had no choice and had to remove 6 large tumors and one was early stage cancer. So, full hestorectomy was required.
Also, my blood required major fusion treastments prior to the hestorectomy and afterwards.
Then in 2014, my doctor found an early stage cancerous spot on my esaphagus which she removed. I was suppose to go back to ensure nothing came back. Well, I didn't. I was moving back to the east coast and had been in a major car accident on top of that.
So, it brings me to today; for the past 3 1/2 months I have been having severe pain across my pelvic area and upper stomach region to the point that I need to throw up; and the pains are pretty violent to the point I almost pass out too. Plus, I have way too much dirreha activity going on a regular basis, then when I don't have dirreha my stools extremely thin, then I have bizzare cold sweats, weakness out of the blue, and then have some dizzy spells.
My concern in reading online and my own past history is if I am dealing again with a bad set of polyps again. I don't want to over react; and just wanted to know if anyone had ever experienced these same set of symptoms before I go harass my doctor.
My last experience with my colon I had a lot of blood loss, and the stools were black tarry; this time not a lot of blood and no tarry stools. The pencil thin stool, horrible pain and nasuea, and crazy dirreha is where I have concerns. Just thought I would ask just for reassurance before going to a doctor. Thanks

Hi
Welcome to the board. The folks here will try to help you however we can.
Given your experiences with tumors and polyps, I think you need to get to a gastro doc as soon as possible. Regardless of the cause, you are having way too many symptoms to ignore them.
You should probably have a CT scan with contrast to see if there is a visible problem. I also expect they will want to do a colonoscopy. Both seem warrented given your symptoms.
Benign or cancerous, if there is anything present that doesn't belong then you need to get appropriate treatment as soon as possible.
Please stay in touch and let us know how things go.

Pain and suffering…
Although it almost sounds like you’ve got an infection of some sort, the “pencil” stools are usually a tip-off that there’s also a restriction in the colon or rectum.
We all have suffered from one thing or another here, and the symptoms can range from common to bazaar, so although asking at a forum is OK, you need some professional opinions based on a thorough medical examination.
And yes….. professional opinions - Notice the S.
No matter what you do, do not ever take one physician’s opinion for your own medical care. Most of us have trusted our favorite physician to provide direction, only to learn later what a terrible mistake we made with such trust. You are entitled to other professional opinions. Get them.
(I was assured a year ago, that I did not require sigmoidoscopy; that what I was experiencing was normal for my condition. Now of course, after being told that I may need a “total pelvic exenteration” due to a tumor that could have been found and removed a year ago…. That a sigmoidoscopy would have taken care of…. I have become totally disgusted with myself for trusting my Gastroenterologist and not getting another opinion.)
Go to a physician or surgeon that has experience with cancer and get an opinion. Then get another opinion from another physician/surgeon that is not of the same group or organization. Do that NOW. You have been suffering for much too long, and the longer you wait, the more you have to lose. Cancer does not wait for you. That cell has no control over itself, and without control it will grow every-which-way but loose as fast or slow as it will.
Right now you still have some control; you can fix whatever may be wrong before it gets worse.
Please…. Make the appointments today.
My best wishes for you.
John

Go ahead, overreact
Really, with your history, I don't think a trip to the Doctor's office would be considered overreacting, but if it is, then go ahead and overreact.
BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!
And now I can tell you, I decided NOT to overreact when I was experiencing some weird symptoms, and now I am a Stage IV Colorectal Cancer patient. I may very well die, becasue I was worried about overreacting.
Go and get yourself sorted out. If its nothing, then have a party. If it is something, then we are here, a great bunch of folks, willing to help you out in any way.

You've been through a ton,PassiontoLive said:thanks
Thank you everyone; making my appointment.
You've been through a ton, starting early, so you likely are toughened up a bit to the hard facts in life. I've had thin poop for no particular reason, blood from hemmorhoids that scared me silly until I reasoned that it was bright, red blood, not the way cc works. Still you need the exam, I hate all the exams, scans, and reminders when I get to feel normal for at most, a couple months at a time, but I know it's about keeping me alive. In the long run, you have to know, to have a chance to beat it. You've had more than your share of heartache and I wish you a good report and some peace of mind........................Dave
