Wig resource Cheap and Free
I didn't have to go through chemo after my BM so I don't know what you lovely ladies have had to endure with the hair loss and everything else that comes with that nasty chemo.
I met another breast cancer survivor when I went for my bra fitings and we are now buds.. She however went through 8 rounds of chemo and lost all her hair. She was on a wig hunt and asked me for help. Well I was shocked at the lack of places and the prices. Doing some research I found most hospitals have gift closets you can go there and get one for free. If they do not have them there they will find you one. This is what they use some of their donations for and you deserve, earned and have a right to one.
Now if your insurance pays for one great get the best and get a real hair one but you only get one so choose wisely.
For really cheap ones and the best quality I found on the web was from rosewholesale.com (I'm not affiliated, know these people in any way) I found them searching and reading reviews. You can get a nice wig for under 10.00 or real hair one for under 40.00
I wish all a very merry hoilday

Thank you Rachel~
I'm new here & I have been told by all the doctors I will be losing my hair. I've never liked my hair but I certainly don't want to lose it. I start chemo just a few day before Christmas so I imagine I will be bald by my b-day in January~

The American Cancer Society will provide one wig. My Dr's office is hooked up with them & I ordered mine right from there. Check with your Dr's office. If it's connected to a breast center they probably are set up. If you have a nurse navigator she'll tell yo uall the info. Most large cities have wig stores. It's so hard to pick one from a catalogue or website.

Thanks for this info.
I did ask my nurse navigator after reading your response & she gave me the contact info for the place my doctors are affiliated with. She says I can schedule an appointment to go in and try wigs on and they will provide one free as well as a couple hats.

I got 3 free caps from cancer society - consider getting a free sleeping cap if they have one, bare head on pillow feels weird and gets cold.

Free wigs if you financially qualify
Lolly's Locks. I just applied. It is for women with low income and when insurance doesn't cover wigs. I will let you all know how it turns out
