Surgery in the morning
going in for surgery tomorrow (Monday). Don't know what to expect. i will have an urologist and my gyne/onc there. It will be done robotically. I am first having my left ureter reimplantEd into my bladder to eliminate the stent. The urologist said I am too young to have the stent changed 4 times a year for the rest of my life. (I am 55 now). Second part of surgery will be done by my gyne/onc. They will biopsy my soft tissue mass which had been a dilemma for me the past year and a half. If it is ok they will just leave it. If not it will be removed. Hopefully it can all be fine laparoscopically and no need for an abdominal cut. I will let you know how it goes
hugs to all!!
Kathy

Kathy, I am thinking about you today
and hoping your surgery goes well. Let us know, when you are able, how you are doing. I agree that having stent surgery so frequently is WAY too much. I am hoping that the mass proves to be nothing- just "body junk".
Take care, my friend,
Hugs,
Cathy

Thanks all!
well they were unable to do robotically due to the large mesh I have in my abdomin They made an incision on my left stomach area. The reimplantment of ureter went well however it was a long process. 5 hours. I don't know at this time if they biopsies the mass because it may have been difficult to reach. I'm on pain mess so a little loopy. Just wanted to send everyone a quick note that my surgery was done

Kathy - Sorry you had to go thru the abdominal surgery, but hopeful you will get physical and emotional relief from this. Will be sending all the positive thoughts I have to you for a good report.
Thanks so much for letting us know that you are okay. Too bad about having to cut your stomach but I hope it did give them access to the tissue they needed to biopsy.
I hope you have a speedy recovery and get great news when all is said and done. And, just think.... no more stent replacements! Yea!
