Surgical oncologist appointment Monday
What should I expect to find out about. I've gotten my pathology report from core biopsy and my MRI report back. All the unknowns.

Surgical oncologist
I would think you will discuss all your options, mastectomy vs. lumpectomy. Those decisions will be determined by size of tumor, whether there are mets, etc. I originally thought I was going to have a lumpectomy, so started chemo first to try to shrink the tumor. Then we found out I was BRCA2 positive, so both my oncologist and surgical oncologist wanted me to have a mastectomy (I had a mastectomy with reconstruction 20 years earlier for a previous tumor in the other breast). So, once I finished the chemo, I had a mastectomy.

Newly diagnosed too
Hi, when I went in for my first appointment after my path came back positive , I came out with a plan, except my plan got held off when they found 2 cyst by my right overy. I just had my hyster last week and I have to wait now until December 29th for my mastectomy with a sentinel node biopsy. The only thing I don't know after my first appointment if I will need chemo or/ and radiation and that only because there was not enough on my path report to push me either way yet.

I went to my appointment. It wasn't as scary as I made it in my head. The doctor is wonderfu. It looks like I have surgery January 7th. more tests to decide if both sides need to come off or just the right.
Thanks for the update, I found it helped to know what the plan was, good luck with your tests and keep us informed.

My surgeon was wonderful too and made me feel comfortable at our first appointment while explaining what I had. It helps to have such wonderful professionals on our cases!
