blast from the past!
Hello everyone! It has been SO very long since I've been on here. I had some computer issues, got rid of said computer and now I am accessing thru my iPad. I've missed you all and hope you are all well.
So far I'm NED, yay!
Please know I never ever go a day without thinking of you all and thankful for all that you did to help me.
Just a few minutes ago I was contacted by a new friend I made who's sister is just starting treatments. I have suggested this site to both of them. She is not doing well emotionally and I know how much this place can help her. I've invited them to join, I hope they will.
I miss you all!!!
Billie

I am H&N normal, which means I am different, but in 1 piece. Personal adjustments have been made or are ongoing.

Hey Billie,
I too am NED for about 3+ years and don't pop in here as often as I should. It was this site and all the wonderful people on it who got me through my ordeal with the beast. Every chance I get when I meet or talk to someone with cancer is to refer them here for support.
It's good to see your name back up here and here's hoping we all stay NED for the rest of our lives.

good, I guess? HaHa I am glad you are H&N normal. I hope you haven't had any bumps in the road, medically speaking.
As for your personal adjustments..not sure what that means but I hope all is well.

Just the adjustments associated with treatment side effects, i.e. more water, careful eating, funky thyroid, etc…

Well, hello Billie!!
You just poofed one day and left us wondering where did that girl go!

Sorry Phrannie,
I had some very frustrating computer problems and I couldn't access hardly anything. I tried doing it from my phone mostly but my eyes would not cooperate...now I am using my iPad, so far so good.
So how the heck are you? I love your new pic!

It HAS been a VERY long time!
It's great to hear from you and to hear that you too continue to be NED! I am as well, and continue to enjoy the "gift that keeps on giving". I'd love to be able to eat without worrying about having a bottle of water near-by, but as a friend of mine said to me "leaves, not roots", implying that I was looking up at the leaves of the trees instead of their roots!

battle the beast again. Just have to wait for my neck dissection to heal so I can have rads. Not looking forward to it, but it sure as hell beats the alternative.

knowing that you're doing well, Billie67. So far, so good on this end too...I've passed the 4 year mark and my team has told me" the cancer's gone, and it's not coming back". Take care and have a Merry, Joyful Christmas.
It is so good to hear you are doing so well. I am looking forward to hearing those words too!
Merry Christmas to you too!!!

I love that analogy!
That being said, only a H&N patient can understand the whole water life line thing! I still struggle with swallowing and taking too big of bites for my poor throat to handle. Our new normal I guess....ugh
Glad to hear the NED for you too!

Candi, I am so happy to hear you are NED as well. This stupid disease just never leaves us H&N peeps alone, the lingering issues are just a reminder of how lucky we are...or so they tell me UGH!!!
