Fox I actually did just the opposite when I was diagnosed with stage IV I started purchasing things like crazy including a new truck.  My wife said I was getting out of control wiht buying things.  I started to see a therapist and what I found out was that I was in the denial phase of this disease, and by purchasing items I was denying my situation.  Since then my wife and I have decided I need to check with her before I purchase any major items to make sure we really need them. After reading your post I feel maybe this summer we are going to have a very large garage sell.
