Taxotere and eye issues
I just finished 6 rounds of Taxotere. After round 4 I bEgan to experience very dry eyes. Now after round 6 my eyes are weeping, and I notice a significant change in my vision. I saw an opthalmologist after 4, and I have drops and an eyelid wash. I am wondering if anyone else experienced a vision change. I especially notice when driving that I can not read signs as well. I do not have glasses except to read, and I wonder how long I should give this until I go for an eye exam. I don't want to put out a few hundred dollars now, then find out in 3 months my eyes may readjust. Thanks.

vision issues
My blurry vision cleared up on its own after taxotere, I think it took about 3 months after I finished chemo.

I was not on Taxotere, but i was on Tamoxifen for 5 yrs and my eye dr always did an exam step/ longer to check something in my eyes. EAch time I go now-he will say NO MORE tamoxifen right?
something to do with nerves-i think.

I wasn't on taxotere but on A/C & taxol. Many people notice vision changes. Some go back to normal. I stopped chemo in Aug but mine hasn't gone back to normal. I'll be going soon to get new glasses as soon as I can afford them.

Thanks for the comments.
Thanks for the comments. Right now I am also experiencing the tearing that is drying out my skin below my eyes. Opthalmologist gave me an eyelid wash, and I try to put on moisturizer. Trying to be careful because the dryness is so close to the eyes. Can't wait for these SE to subside. I wonder if my 6th round was slightly stronger than the rest. Swelling in my legs and feet, fatigue, and now eye issues - glad there is not a round 7 of chemo.

It's very common for side effects to get worse with each chemo session, even though the dose has remained the same. My doctor actually reduced the dose of #4 because she was concerned about the side effects I was having. I was using a cane and thought I'd need to borrow a wheelchair for #4. Hope you start feeling better soon.

terrible watery eyes- dripping nose - day in, and day out for months -- took me about 6 months POST chemo to "dry"up. i wore sunglasses when heading out doors- even to toss out trash ... Frustrating I know.
so sorry that you are dealing with this ...
