Too save nipple, or not save the nipple?
Again, I will post this question for women that have had complete masectomies.
Did you have your nipples completely removed? I have the option. The surgeon says that if i have the nipple saved then i will be put on a registry. I guess they are still doing a study if the cancer will come back or not, and also any complications.
She says, too, that with the nipple saved it will still leave some duct and tissue left. I already opted to have the nipple removed, and then later on go for the reconstruction. BTW, I am already done with chemo, and will have no radiation after this masectomy. I am now having some second thoughts, and wishing to get some input from anyone out there, that has had either procedure done, and how it worked out for you.
All responses are greatly appreciated
Christa

I think you made the right
I think you made the right decision. I am happy to have the peace of mind knowing that i removed as much tissue as possible-deal with the big C first and as much as possible. I had a double m and am looking forward to the tattoos! That will be the end, the very last thing, and the fun thing! Don't doubt it, you're good! And the surgery recovery isn't bad at all bc removing that tissue makes you pretty numb while you're healing up, so no worries there either. Good luck!

My surgeon did the 3D thing. He made a few teeny cuts for petals and sewed them up like tiny flower bud then tattoed after healinjg. You absolutely can't tell from real. everyone heard about it and wanted a lood see.
