Delicate issue
Hi this is a delicate matter, my delicate area is irritated and red (like nappy rash) I am wondering if my body fluids are irritating this area as I am on pazopanib and have been since September so nearly 14 months now. Has anyone else had this happen, what creams did you use, I have tried several nappy rash creams and also a cream from the gp which did help but could only be used for 7 days. Any suggestions gratefully received
Love to you all

Sorry to hear about that! I
Sorry to hear about that! I haven't been on any medication of that kind (it was my partner who had kidney cancer). But I had similar problems couple of years ago, due to having contact dermatitis (wrong toilet paper). I Visited several docs, most of them prescribed steroid creams which purposfully made the area dry to help. but it didn't work longterm. Finally the only thing that helped was the cream which had the opposite effect - made the area hydrated/damp. I don't know how if you have simlar cream in US. Here it is called Solcoseryl, it is used to treat burns, wounds in oral area...
Please do not try to use anything suggested without dicussion with your doc. But in my case it took several docs and out of the box solution which helped. Maybe a dermatologist could help?
Good luck with your treatment

Ange you may be getting a "jock rash." Red, raised blotchy and itchey. Try an over the counter cream/spray. If that is what it is, it resolves pretty quickly. I think votrient makes some people susceptible.

Yikes so sorry you are going through this rashy stuff! Does it itch?
I think Fox may be right and over the counter ointment with hydrocortizone helps.
Also suggest not wearing underwear but something loose to air that area out.
Still, I always want to know WHY it happens to prevent it! My gynie said its like
jock itch but I still wanted to know what was causing it.
Our diet can contribute AND probiotics helps keep the "good" bacteria working in our favor.
Let me know, privately if you want, how you are doing. We have DM=direct messaging on this site.
Hope you FEEL better soon!

Oh and check your PH levels, and any external materials, perfumed items, detergents throwing off your PH levels.
Yeast levels can also get out of control and spread more external eventually.
Do a search..then an inventory on what you ingest, wear, and use that could irritate it. you'll see.
MEDICATIONS can throw off your PH levels but my educated guess is that most docs wouldn't even know that much less tell you.
Even though there may be creams that help, it doesn't get to the problem, right?

Jan I think that it is caused with the pazopanib being toxic because when I get hot flushes/sweats my cheeks (on face) feel irritated as well and slightly burning itchy feeling I have a good face cream for this but just cant seem to get one to work at the other end, hydrocortisone cream did work but I was told not to use it for longer than 7 days.
Thank you again Jan dont know how to dm

Moist towelettes or baby wipes. I swear by them, and swear with pain without them.

Rash
Angela I had the same problem but from the male perspective my ONC told me it was the Votrient, which is in the side effect list. I used Desetin the stuff we give to baby's for diaper rash and it goes away, occasionally it returns so I just apply more. Hang in there
