Sad news
This past Thursday, October 22, we lost another friend, our dear sister, Miss Renee. She fought long and hard! a seven year battle. Her husband, Kevin, son Bob and friend Linda were with her. With classical music playing, candles burning and pictures playing of their trip to Paris, she left us.

My Prayers, tears, and condolences go out to MissRenee's family and friends. What a beautiful, peaceful send off. Yet still hard to keep losing so many of our pink sisters and brothers. Keep praying that a cure is found.
Hugs and prayers.

Dear friends,
It is with great sadness that my dear sweet wife Renée passed away this past Thursdayevening on 10/22 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Her son Bob and our dear friend Linda Leyk were with me at her passing. Renée was surrounded by classical music, candles and with pictures from our trip to Paris. There were many moments when she saw our pictures from Paris on the TV and we shared many wonderful memories of trips taken, family, friends and especially our grandchildren, Lincoln and Kylie. Bob and I will be forever grateful to Linda who gave us comfort and calmness throughout the entire day.
Renée and I also talked about our wonderful and fabulous daughter-in-law, Susie. It gave Renée tremendous peace knowing that Bob has such a loving wife and an awesome mom to Lincoln and Kylie. Bob is a very fortunate young man to have Susie in his life.
Renée had time to plan for her passing and one of her wishes was to have a Life Remembrance Celebration in lieu of a funeral or a memorial. After some consideration Bob and I decided to have the Life Remembrance Celebration in January after the holidays for those who may wish to travel to Phoenix. Details will be forthcoming in a future e-mail/correspondence.
Renée also requested that any donations in her honor should be made to either:
Breast Cancer Research Foundation - http://www.bcrfcure.org/ (specifically NOT Susan G. Komen, Renée was not a big fan)
or
St. Jude - https://www.stjude.org/
I’m sure that there are friends that I may have missed, please feel free to forward this e-mail.
I will forever miss my best friend, with heavy heart, Kevin

Many of you remember when I first landed here doe eyed and clueless as to what was awaiting me.
And that is how I met my dear Renee. After seeing that a lady had posted how she made special cushy
cases for her seatbelt, I commented something along the lines that is a good idea I will do the same
when I go to my mastectomy. Somehow Renee realized just how naive I was and that I was talking about
driving myself there. To my defense up until this point, I had never been sick, never had a surgery, therefore
had no clue. Sweet Renee actually drove me to my mastectomy and I am forever grateful to her. It was terrible
going through this by my own. My sister offered to come from Europe but cocky me begged her not to, a decision
I regretted into my second chemo in. Renee and I used to meet laugh, cry and then always, always laugh some
more. I loved how she kept it real. She did not pink wash anything, neither did I. I am lucky to have met her and
I cant help but wish, we will have many more meetings to look forward to. I love and miss you Renee.
