Herceptin?
HI,,, I am wanting to know of anyone who is kind of the same treatment i am having.. I have had 6 rounds of chemo,, now i will be having only Herceptin every 21 days, i think for 6 more rounds, to complete the year... But my main concern is just what are, if any, side effects for just the Herceptin.... please tell me my tastebuds and mouth will not be affected and no nausea. My doctor said this will be like a vacation as compared the very intense 6 rounds i just did for last 18 weeks

when I was on Herceptin
I had no side effects. Biggest thing is it can affect the heart after a period of time but they do echoes every few months. I was on it for 17 month, no nausea, no weight gain, you keep your hair! It is not a chemo.
Only bad thing, was having to go in and get it. Easiest treatment other than Aromasin for me.
Wish you the best.

present as many side efforts as taxol, and carboplatin. In fact, my hair started to grow back....
i found that i was fatigued, however i think that may of been from previous treatment of chemo combo.
Hoping herceptin is easy, and breezy for you!

It was very easy for me
I started to feel better immediately after stopping the chemo drugs and being on Herceptin alone. As Carol said, you will be having heart scans as some damage can happen. I had a problem with a heart valve, but they monitored it and I never had to do anything about it. It healed itself when I stopped after 1 1/2 years of the drug. The only annoying thing I remember was very fragile fingernails that would split. It helped to use a nail strengthener. The best thing was regaining my sense of taste again. I actually gained a little too much weight after having been only 110 lbs at my lowest, but that was from enjoying food again. I wish you all the best - you'll feel much better soon, Anna
