Recurrence or Progression?
My mom was diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian/peritineal cancer in March. She had three cycles of chemo, surgery then 9 more weekly chemo treatments. Her CA 125 was at 12 after her last chemo. She had her one month follow up today and her ca125 is at 58. The Dr wants to repeat the test in two weeks and do a PET scan to see if anything shows up. We are being reassured there are still lots of options for treatment but are feeling really discouraged. Anyone out there had a ca125 rise so soon after chemo treatment?

Hi christi
i was put on avastin for last 1st line chemo and continued that for maintenance but my numbers rose after 2 months 35 ,38 42 , just kept going up even on avastin but I was able to put off further treatment 2nd line for nearly a year ,you learn to get used to the ups and downs of your ca125 numbers it's difficult but as time goes on you live with the uncertainty , I just enjoy every day . I wish your mum much luck and don't loose heart there are lots of treatments , take a break if she can and get stronger for the next one . Jue x
