    Welcome

Sorry that you had the need to find us, but you have come to a place where there are caring folks who have or are on this same path.

I don't know if there are any current members from Hawaii.  I know there were a couple in the past.

If you are looking to get local support, ask at your clinic or the local American Cancer Society office.  They should be able to help you get connected with a support group.

Please know that folks on this site share not only their own journey but also offer support and suggestions to anyone who asks.

    Wishing you the best,

    Marie who loves kitties

    Dear Friend,

Aloha. We all wish we'd never had to be here, but we have to make the best of it.

The way you feel now even though is scary and lonely is common and unfortunately there are many others that feel the same as you. We all go through the different stages of this struggle. The best way to get through it is to make and maintain connection with people and you can only benefit from that.

I can honestly tell you that this forum didnt just help me, but saved my life in so many ways.

Talk to us, let us know what you are going through. I'm somewhat of a colostomy expert having it myself, let me know if I can help you in any way.

    All the best,

    Laz

    Welcome to the forum

Its not a place folks are wishing to be, but if you're diagnosed, then its one of the best places.

We do have a fourm member from Hawaii, but sadly, her husband passed away last year. She still visits on occasion, and may see your post and offer help. Her froum name is Kathleen808. You can send her a Personal Message via the ACSN.  Here is her profile page http://csn.cancer.org/user/97226 and at the bottom of the page is a link to send her a message.

Many of us here have travelled the same road as yourself and can share information and support. I myself had Liver surgery in the form of a Microwave Ablation. The surgery was quick and easy, just a little pain for a few weeks afterwards, and a lingering sensation still. Others have had liver resections, some have had multiple resections, and we can all help make it a little less scary.

Don't be a stranger. We are here to help you feel a part of a community. You do not need to feel alone during this time of your life.
