Same Old, Same Old....scanxiety
Scanxiety this week....My annual pilgrimage to here and there, and everywhere that spins me out of control.
Abdomen, Pelvis, Chest.....$300 later for my annual dues.
Thursday....the wait for the DR to come into the room.....yuck!
May God Bless me and all of us!

Had mine yestersay....still awaiting the results. 8-(
"No news means good news", says husband... "Well they could bloody call and tell me that!" says I.
Saw my oncology nurse yesterday for a 4 month check in with labs. We reviewed Dr's orders for me and found that I hadn't had a CT since January 2014, with only a Chest X-ray and Pelvic/Abd. US in the interim.
So next Monday, I have the pre-and post Hydration, drink the berry barium sulfate, and go to the CT for w/wo dye. The worst part for me is the laxative effect, which sh----s the whole rest of the day.
The benefits are that the CT's do catch enlarging "things", as it did after my original 2006 surgery. Nodes were found growing in both 2007 and 2008, both surgically removed; and I'm here to remind you that the prognosis can be one of optomism and hope. My hubby and I talked about it this morning. We were told 5-7 months, maybe, upon Dx. After the first extensive surgery, my attending surgeon told my hubby to hope for 5 years. Guess I showed them all!
Yeah, you can let scanxiety get to you. But all it does is waste your time and make you more upset. Keep busy, Say to yourself that you'll deal with it on the day of the test and not before. Even if you have to wait a week for your follow-up appointment, ask the nurse to call you early if there are any adverse comments in the report.
We didn't sign up or buy a ticket for this E-ride. Wow...that dates me to the days of buying individual tickets at a Disney park. But we are here now and will give it our best.
Good luck and Hugs,
Donna

The Good Lord has blessed me again. 3 years NED.
Thank you to everyone for allowing me to vent a little this week.
I feel safe here & among friends in a 'club' none of us wanted to be members of, but we're all
making the best we can each & every day, along with all the other struggles of life.
God Bless everyone.
Thank you.

Thank you....
As always, I really appreciate the support from everyone. Thank you very much.
The only issue in my bloodowork was the BUN. It came in at 18. Last year it was 16, but that was from a different lab, so who knows.
My creatinine seems stable at 1.22, although I think I was in the 1.15+ neighborhood 2 years ago. Last year it was 1.24, so this year it was better.
eGFR is now 68.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Fabulous news on NED! So happy for you. BUN fluctuates according to protein intake and water intake. If you've had a lot of high protein foods and are a bit dehydrated it will be higher. Mine has been as good as 14 and as high as 21. Now it's around 17. Next time make sure you're really hydrated before the blood test and keep protein consumption low.
