Caring bridge
I wanted to make folks here aware of a site called Caring Bridge that can be accessed at www.caringbridge.org
It allows you to set up a page where you can update friends and family through journal entries. It also has a calendar so people can sign up to bring you meals or come and help if that is something you want to arrange. There is no cost to set up a site or to access it, although it does run on donations. I have used it a lot to keep family and friends informed, so I don't have to make a million phone calls. I like it better than Facebook because I can control the privacy level - you invite people to the page through email and then you can approve access.
i have found it to be a useful tool and wanted to let others know about it.

Barb, thank you for sharing
Barb, thank you for sharing this infp. It is a great site and like you said, saves the patient from making a bazillion calls. we had another member here who had a page on caringbridge for her son's updates. i still get emails and check on his page to see how he's doing. his mom joined last year I think. Gabe was 10 when he was dx. i'm very happy to say he is cancer free and living an active life.
God bless you,
dj
