Today was the anniversary of the day we got the diagnosis. I can still remember what a scary, overwhelming and completely horrible day it was. All the unknowns, all the fears, all the worries, everything. The road to recovery was not easy for us. Dima's cancer was advanced and he ended up in the hospital after each of the 3 induction chemo cycles. The radiation was no picnic either. But a year later, we are doing well. Dmitri is doing GREAT. He was NED last month. He is doing so well! We are thankful to folks here and at home who helped us through this. above all, we are thankful to God. With Him, all things are possible indeed.
So, if you are just starting on this road or going through the treatment, please know it gets better. this part will end and a year later you will also be looking back and feeling thankful. Yes, it is hard and the road looks so dark, but you can do it! And folks here are always around to light up the road a little!
