One diagnosis after another

Hi All, 

I will be quiet for a few weeks. Nothing is wrong. Actually we are heading off to Costa Rica for a few weeks. I will be spending my 60th birthday celebrataing with an adventure. I am blowing out the celebration this year because 4 years ago I wasn't sure I would make 60. I am alive! Thank you!

I have been a bit overcome over the past couple of weeks by friends and family being diagnosed with cancer. A long time friend was diagnosed with advanced stage cervical cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. My uncle was diagnosed with bone cancer that has spread throughout his body. A former work colleague was diagnosed with brain cancer. 

It just never seems to stop. I am so tired of cancer impacting so many lives. Someone needs to find a cure sooner rather than later. Too many wonderful people are being lost to cancer. I know this isn't news to any of you. After all we are here because we are part of the cancer club. But darn it! It makes me so angry that this club continues to grow. I would love to have to disband the cancer club one of these days SOON because there are no more members because cancer has been cured. It is way past time!

    Have a great trip!

    Sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate still being here.  Everyone I know who has made it to Costa Rica raves about it.

    Look forward to hearing how it went when you return!

    I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip. Try to chill out and leave the Cancer thoughts back in the States. 

    I had a friend living in Costa Rica for a while. She loved it!

    I went to Costa Rica

    for my 50 th! I loved it, visit the Arenal volcano if you have a chance. Wonderful country! Congratulations on making it to your birthday!

    Since December I know five people who passed away from various forms of cancer and another 3 going through it, unfortunately one who is very ill at this point.  :(

     

    Have a wonderful 60th birthday trip to Costa Rica, you deserve it.
