Post Masectomy, lymph node removal pain a year later ?
Dear all... any input would be appreciated.
Last year I was diagnosed with DC IS breast cancer, on my right side. I chose to have a Masectomy, which included removal of lymph nodes under my arm. Of course, initially, I had pain in my arm pit.. no other post surgical issues..
This week the pain under my armpit has been getting progessively worse.. today it is really bad, deep under my armpit. Weirdly, I have an appointment with my oncologist tomorrow morning... I guess I'm wondering if any knows whether the cancer can come back on this side and present like this. The pain today is much worse than I can remember. I exercise and drink plenty of fluids.
Can cancer recurring and present in the armpit after a Masectomy?
Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated!

Hi girlmissy*
Wondering what your Oncologist had to say? Sorry nobody knew about your question the other day...but I would have to guess that Cancer can come back anyplace at any time so we really need to try our best to let go of our Fear...since it is not in our control whether or not BC returns. All we can do is do the best we can...pray for a cure...try to manage our lives and emotions and take it day by day.
Please let us know what your Onc said/did....praying that it was nothing and you are ok now. xxoo Glo
