Blue Moon tonight

Tonight is a Blue Moon.  All that means is that it is the second  full moon within a calendar month.   The Presides Meteor Shower also starts tonight so there will be lots of 'Shooting Stars'

    My granddaughter was very

    My granddaughter was very excited as Jul 31st is her 7th birthday and a blue moon.  I said that turning seven only happens once in a blue moon and she laughed.  She will have another on her 27th, 73rd and 91st birthdays.  The one on her 91st will be the last blue moon for the 21st century.  I think that is so cool.  I know that they are only a second full moon in a month but they only happen once a year at most and having one on your birthday is even more rare.  I do think that I read that there will be 2 in one calendar year several years from now but mostly they are 12 or more months apart.

    Step .. now your 7 year old granddaughter will always remember this topic/information for the REST of her life.   I bet she will look forward to her Blue Moon story from her precious grandmother - years to come.
