New here with question
Hi.
My name is Jennifer and i was diagnosed with BC last July(2014),ER Pos stage3.
I have had a Mastectomy on the left breast and lymph nodes removed,4 months of chemo and 25 radiation treatments which just ended last March.
I am currently on Zolodex shots monthly and Extemestane25mgs daily.
I am to have a offerectomy August 11 next month as well.
My question is does anyone else have terrible stiffness on the estrogen blockers? My legs and feet are especially sore all the time and i have a difficult time climbing stairs. I also have swelling in the left leg and foot but im not sure if that is due to my lymph nodes removed.
Thanks so much

joint problems on estrogen blockers
Stiffness and joint pain are side effects of the estrogen blockers that some women experience. Talk with your doctor about trying one of the other meds that do the same thing, it appears the fillers can affect what side effects women have and people will tolerate one better than the other.
You might want to also check out the arimidex discussion forum at breastcancer.org. Be sure and mark it as a favorite once you find it or it can be hard to find again as there are so many forums.

Stiffness and soreness
Hi Jenn..... I only had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal (19 taken 6 had cancer) and I am Triple Negative so no estrogen blockers....but I had a lot of aches and pains for a very long time and I put it down to the chemo and radiation myself. I hope you will discuss this with your doctors and that you find something to help you with it. I get relief with Tylenol 500 gel caps but some people have to take other things for pain. Sending you encouragement and prayers for feeling better soon. Glo

Welcome Jennifer, I'm sorry
Welcome Jennifer, I'm sorry you aren't feeling back to normal yet. If your doctors think it's ok, maybe you could start a walking program. Exercise really helped me get my energy back and relieved my aches and pains. Be sure to explain everything to them at your next appointment as they may be able to tweak the dosages of your blockers. Best, Anna
