Pinched nerve?
It could be many things as the other poster had mentioned. I, however, am experiencing left arm numbness, pain and tingling. I have had it since about March. I have it every day and it keeps me up at night. It started prior to this with a stiff neck and I could hardly move my left arm. I went to the chiropractor several times and it helped with the stiffness and neck issues. However, I still have the numbness which is worse when I am trying to sleep. I also have burniness in my left foot during the night (probably periphial neropothy). I also saw my PCP. I had a neck X-ray which showed degenerative discs. They sent me for an EMG (nerve study test) which just said I had cervical radiculopthy (basically left arm numbness). I then went and got a massage. It really helped but I am still experiencing the numbness especially when I sleep.
It is very annoying to say the least and worrysome too. I also had an MRI of just my neck which really didn't show anything more than the x-ray. I think they should have MRI my whole back though.
If I find anything out I will let you know.

Hoping you find relief, and quickly.

Vicki Sam,
Thanks for your wishes. It seems ok during the day. I still know it is there. Taking motrin helps sometimes, but I don't like to take too much of it, especially since I have a ureter stent for my left kidney.
lol - I sound like a sad sack, but I am still smiling

Hi Rabeah63
See that you just joined us.......and it looks like you and I did the same thing. I didn't join this Site until 2008 even though I was diagnosed in 2002. Like you I did not have to take any meds after my treatments because my BC was Triple Negative and not hormone dependent. Have you reported the numbness to your Oncologist? It sounds like you have ruled out any heart issues so now it is just searching for answers....perhaps related to your mastectomy? Maybe it is something to do with the nerves involved under your arm or something like that. I would advise you to talk with your Onc and also your Surgeon. I only had a Lumpectomy but it was done in 2002 before they stopped scooping out a lot of lymph nodes and they scooped 19 from under my arm so now I have times when my left arm gets numb too and sometimes I have some lymphodema...but it is only slight and not too uncomfortable...but looks terrible and aches and burns. At least I don't have to use a sleeve on my arm....and I am glad for that. I hope you will keep posting and share with us what you decide to do. Prayers for Strength and Courage. Glo
