Major Scanxiety Y'all
Hi, Everyone
Starting to have major scanxiety y'all !! I go to MD Anderson for my checkup on July 8th. I had my nephrectomy for Stage 1 Grade 2 6cm tumor on May 2014. Having just a chest x-ray this time. Had an abdominal ct scan done in January 2015. It was normal. My tumor had not spread locally (no renal vein, renal fat or lymph nodes invasion). I was so scared at my previous visits that I didn't ask very many questions. Are there steps that kidney cancer takes to spread? Like renal vein or renal fat before lymph nodes or can it spread to distant sites without spreading locally first? Thought I would ask you guys..Thoughts appreciated..:) ...Hopefully I'm not so afraid this time that I can't ask questions. Hugs and Positive Vibes to Everyone, Panda.

Scans
Theyre fun ain they? I'm in the same boat (nearly). Stage 4 grade 4. I guessing that my onc doesn't have much faith in my relationsip with Inlyta. So I'm having a bunch of blood tests and scans on the 28th of July. He's thinking about putting me on a trial, but I dont remember commiting a crime.
My insides have been photographed so often I've heard rumours that they are looking for a modelling agency and thinking about splitting from my skeleton and epidermis. I think it sounds Offal. But dont fret it, It will be what it will be.

Footstomper, you have tremendous sense of humor! hope your scans will show that Inlyta is working.
Pandabear, with your pathology you have all the chances to be all right! Scanxiety sucks, but odds are in your favor! Good luck on 8th!

Stage 1, grdade 2 has a good
Stage 1, grdade 2 has a good chance to never come back, but about your question, yes it is possible that distant mets are found without any local spread. Hope it never happens to you
Stay positive, grade 2 shows that the tumor wasn'r much aggressive.

I have learned withPanda
I have learned with cancer anything is possible, and I would be lying if I said I never worry about the scans. I get nervous evertime I go to the ONC woried he is going to tell me that the drugs I am on have stopped working etc. All I can say is stay strong and cling to your beliefs that good things will happen, and gather strength from your family and friends, I know in my case my family is my rock and I look to them for support everytime before I walk into the doc's office.
