brest cancer to the bone and liver
Many of you dont know me, but the oldtimers should remember me, I have not been to the site in quite a while. I am sorry to say I am here for selfish reasons. I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastic breast cancer last year, it has gone to my bones and liver. Last week after a year of treatment the doctor used the word terminal when refering to my cancer. I mean i knew being stage 4 that it was terminal and all but hearing it out loud kind of through me for a loop. I do NOT have a time limit at this time (Thank God) the chemo is doing its job, and I dont really feel all that bad considering I have been doing chemo for a year now and will continue to do it for the rest of my life. I gues I am just here for a little support and to check in.

So sorry that this is
This is my 2nd edit of my post. I got so confused. At first I thought you were TJHay from 2008 that was part of the "band" but then saw TJHay1 was from 2014 so thought I was wrong but then looked at your post about changing your screen name so now I know you are our old drummer, "TJ tantrum". I do so remember you and your dear Wendy.
I see that you have been dealing with the Stage 4 diagnosis for a while. In reading posts from others, I think that most prefer having our cancers referred to by stage rather than terms like terminal. At least I would. I am a Stage 1 breast cancer, Stage 1 bladder cancer, stage 2B uterine cancer, and several types of skin cancer survivor. I also have had pre cancerous colon polyps removed the last two years (due for my yearly colonoscopy next month). And if any of these reach Stage 4 I am going to request that the word Terminal not be used. It's not a head in the sand thing just that "terminal" sounds so eminent. While it might be accurate I hate the word terminal. It makes me think we all have a pull from the shelf date stamped on us. The real truth is that we will all eventually die but the causes can be infinite even with a Stage IV diagnosis. To me stage IV means that while it can't be cured it can be treated and held at bay. The fight can be long or short and we don't which it will be. Some of our sisters passed shortly after entering that stage but many others are still fighting and surviving. They are using all that medicine has to offer. From their words it's not easy but they take each day one at a time and they are living life. Some have reached the point of hospice but they still give it their all. I am inspired by all of them not just their strength and courage but that they still give so much of themselves to all of us, new and old. I have learned so much from them. Not just about cancer and their fight but how they live their lives, who they are and what amazing people they are. I learn from each person on this board. Their stories, no make that their lives, are a part of my journey. I use things they have shared in my life and it makes me a better person. I hate that this brought you back but you know you are always welcome here for support and caring friends new and old. Some like you have come back because their cancer has reared its ugly head and they are once more in the fight. Others, like me, read and occasionally post but have been fortunate enough to still be NED. And some are still very active in supporting and advising while waging their own battle.
We are here for you and my kindest thoughts are going out to you and Wendy as you face this monster once again.

Thank you for stopping by. I am very sorry that the cancer moved to your liver . Having mets in your bones are not fun, but liver is a different ballgame. I do not know if you rememberER me from previous years.
Mine also moved to my liver 6 months ago. So far we cannot find an effective treatment to control progression every 3 months we need to change medication.
What chemo are you on ?
sending you hugs and positive thoughts

I remember you and Wendy, too! I'm really sorry for your news but happy to hear chemo is working. I hope you'll come back with updates. Sending good vibes to both of you.

like many of the Sisters in PINK .. I am truly sorry to hear about the beast invading your body, again. Happy your Oncologist has found some sort of chemo to work against the beast.
Keeping you in good thoughts, and my prayers.
