happy
I'm happy to say I am going from strength to strength since having my blocked bowel sorted. I have been working in the house sorting out cupboards, getting rid of clothes that are too big for me now. Taken about 10 bags of books bits and clothes to cancer charity shop. Today I've been clearing out the shed and back of shed I've a small mountain of metal 'man bits' heavy duty chains, metal tools for large vehicles..all metal. Oil cans, an old bicycle, a standard lamp it's amazing what can be tucked out of sight for years. They were my late partners 'treasures' he wouldn't chuck away incase they became useful. In the shed was a barrel full of leather work gloves and heavy ropes. He used to be in the haulage business, he needed them once..many years ago. I feel guilty getting rid of the things he hoarded but it looks so much better now. I have to make some trips to the tip now. I'm amazed and family amazed how 'normal' I've become in a few weeks. I have to have radioactive scans next month to see if I need treatment to the three tiny bowel tumours, they are slow growing so hopefully they will just keep an eye on them. If I have to have treatment it has side effects similar to when I was ill, pain and sickness, don't want that now I feel so lively and healthy. My BMI is perfect at present. I think lots of us has had ups followed by downs but it's good when it's up's. Long may it last.........

Jackie that is just great news.....
It is great news that after all you had to go through, you now have the energy and strength back. Having the BMI where it should be is also very good news. I need to get mine down some. I do have to stay on the highside, but not go over.

the surgeon was amazed at the difference in me since he saw me two months ago. He said he was really worried for me then. I will be able to get my tube out after next dilation. The surgeon that opened the stricture is doing a paper for the medical records about us. Theres four or five of us now that's had successful surgery. There's always hope never thought I would feed through the mouth again. Already it feels quite natural. I can't manage solids but can 'drink' soup, yoghurt , and icecream etc. I have a nutribullet so can have a variety of foods. For two summers I couldn't eat an icecream or drink a cool drink it's so wonderful I can be sociable again and join in coffee mornings etc. I had a clear scope and examination.

Jacki, great news and congratulations on the progress... Looks like you guys in the UK need more comfortable chairs in your waiting rooms:) WE need to get Guzzle on that with his connections with the Queen and all he should be able to get it done!
Great news and congratulations,
Keith

Thanks guzzleGuzzle said:Delighted
Enjoy the. Summer Jacki! Thanks Guzzle, why guzzle? Is it your life long nickname or one you plucked from the air. How about the weather going up to the 90 s next week ( for one day) but pretty hot on other days too. What's your connection to the queen ha ha ( a remark made) need more comfortable seats in waiting rooms, I agree with that I have to wait an hour and half on one each head and neck checkup they are always behind with the appts. Must be a lot of us in the Oxford area.
