Bulge at incision
I have a bulge at incision 6 weeks after surgery. Has anyone experienced this and will it go away?

Yes
It was a hernia, and yes it went away as my stomach repaired itself

Javs,
I also had a bullge 6 weeks past surgery. In fact it had still not gone al the way down after a year and now almost 13 years. Check with the doctor to make sure it is not anything serious like a hernia. Although most of the buldge will go away after a year, some of it you get to keep for ever, like a free perk for joining our club.

It is a bonus - and you might
It is a bonus - and you might be able to keep that bulge! I have had mine since my nephrectomy 1 1/2 years ago. Next time you go to the doctor get him to check just to make sure it isn't a hernia. My doc advised me to massage it daily (once you are comfortable with that). It helped a bit. My bulge goes quite well with my other bumps and bulges. lol

I have a slight "sausage" where the inicision is. At first it was much more pronounced but it has gone down quite a bit after 14 months. I think it'll eventually go away completely but if not, it's a small price to pay for having that little $#@! removed, lol.

Still have mine . 6months out and still very tender to touch. A lot of pinching feelings doctor says it's the nerves regenerating
Thanks peeps. Went for my 6 week post op and all is functioning well. Asked if bulge was hernia. Result was "it's still healing and no it's not a hernia. That was good to hear. It was funny to hear the sausage comment because I said it looked like the doctor left a hot dog in there! only need to get checked every year for five years.

Yes, lol. It's exactly like a skinny little hot dog was left in there! But it used it to be more like a knockwurst so I guess I'm making progress
