Chest pain leading to CT, Need Prayers
Hi everyone,
My last Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis CT was six months ago and had Abdomen, Pelvis Ultrasound last month. I'm Stage two, Grade two and had 10cm CCRCC.
The pain I'm feeling in chest since March isn't getting any better. I had chest pain for almost two weeks, right side and sometimes it grew to my back around my right shoulder(the same side that my removed kidney was), it was 2-3 on pain scale, so My Uro-oncologist sent me to have bone scan, ECG, chest X-Ray which seemed normal so he sent me home telling me it isn't something we should worry about. The pain got better and after few days vanished. But two weeks later it started again, so I finally saw him few days ago after having almost same pain for 10 days, this time he said it's best to have Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis CT just to make sure everything is fine. Since yesterday the pain is in my right chest and my back around right shoulder as earlier but the pain in the center of my chest is added too. I have neither breathing problem nor coughing which seems to be good sign! CT is scheduled for Sunday and I'll have the report on Monday evening. The worst part is the waiting part; I'm really worried and need some words of encouragement. I'm praying that NED report brings back happiness and peace to my heart.

I am two years plus from my surgery. For me, it has become normal to have strange pains (and the lesser aches) in my body. I've gone in for a number of things that I feared were cancer related. Everyone proved false. Removing a kidney is pretty serious stuff and surgeons can't put everything back in the condition that it should be. For some things, time (a lot of it) is needed before normalcy returns. For some things, there will be a new normal for you. You are right to check things out as they develope, but I think that, until you see the medical people, the assumption can be that things are OK. Be vigilent and stay on top of things (seeing your doctors when issues persist), but don't jump ahead of yourself as to worst-case thoughts.

Is simply horrid. Everything hurts inside and out. I tell my wife I'm dying but she just laughs at me. Make sure you tell your doctor about your aches and pains. They will take you seriously.

SO sorry
It must be terrifing!
When I found out I had cancer, I began having anxiety attacks - so severe that I went to see my cardiologist about them thinking they were a heart attack.
Severe pain and tightness through the chest and shoulders. Felt like I was being both pulled apart and sat on by an elephant. Strange was that my heart rate never raced nor did I have any breathing problems. After about 30 seconds to about 5 minutes (at it's worse) then whole thing just went away.
Cariologist (after tests) that they were anxiety related. That I was to just sit up (normally happened at night) and breath deeply. I haven't had them in about 6 months now (since the night before my 6 month CT scan) - but they were very scary!
Hopefully your pains will turn out to be the same thing. BUT Dr.s all said that I was smart to have it checked out as quickly as I did. So glad you have as well.
Fingers crossed for you

I will keep you in my prayers for sure. I understand the feeling you are having and it is not fun. I have been reading a book called A Reason for Hope by Michael Barry that has made me feel so much better. I ordered it on Amazon and got it the next day. It is a Christian perspective on dealing with cancer.
Also, when I am stressed or have anxiety, I too have pains in my shourlers and neck that feel like muscular pain. I pray that you come back NED and that you find peace over the weekend as you wait for your scan.

Shecka, aamdsi, Footstomper, Dutch, Apny Thank you all for your positive responses. I want to thank CSN group to create us such a wonderful infrastructure too. Well, here's the only place where I can talk about everything which makes me worried and be sure the one who is telling me "don't worry" is the one who truly knows how I feel.
God bless you all

Forough.
for several months after my nephrectomy, I would have episodes of pain in my side where the nephrectomy was that would last a few days and go away. Don't be surprised by this but do have it checked out.

I had alll sorts of weird pains after surgery. First, right under my ribs, not far from my scar 2-3 months after surgery. It went away. Then, nearly 6 months after surgery, I had horrible back pain. Never had back pain like this. I had to stay home for a week. I was trying to get back into exercise, and every time I did moderate core exercises, my back pain would flare up. That went away too. I think it was Dutch who said that the body has to get used to the new normal. We are all different too. Hope Foroughsh's pain is nothing to worry about. Wishing you the best . . .

Hmm.. sorry you are going through this, but I wonder, why no cardiact work up?
No stress test?
Or could it be "referred" pain..
Hmm..HOPE you find answers so you can relax,
Gentle Hugs, Jan
