Thank you, dear JanJan!JanJan63 said:I hope it's nothing. Cancer
I hope it's nothing. Cancer is a life sentence even if it never rears it's ugly head again because of the worrying. I used to think people were paranoid when they'd have something weird going on health wise and worry that it was cancer. Now I'd be the first one to encourage having things checked out. Almost 50% of people will get the diagnosis. The numbers are shocking and early detection is key.
You speak wise words! It IS a life sentence....I compare it to a large bird of prey, flying just out of sight behind me. If and when it soars close enough for me to see, as is with now, I take action....
Years ago, before cancer, I would have shrugged this 'bump' off as being a muscle strain. Now, I know it is a node, what node it is and in what group....and know that it can spell trouble....

I just came online and saw your message. I so HATE that you have discovered this lump. Hopefully it is just an infection, but glad that you and your medical team are proactive. I think of you and you beau often and hope he is doing well.
I continue to heal slowly from the shock of it all.
Keep in touch.
Luv Ya,
Wolfen
I have thought of you so often...and wish that at some point we could get together for a coffee!!! When you are up to a trip, we would love to see you for a visit in The Netherlands....there is a bright and cheery guest room just waiting for you!!!!
Hans is doing amazingly well....this 20-something year old heart beating in his chest seems to be tireless....he out-runs, out-walks, out-bikes me and my 50-something heart!!!
I will post as things are unveiled. Of course my fav Nurse knew that I liked to have all the possibilities, even the scary ones....and then, after listing everything it could be, she said "Or, it could be a passing thing....nothing to worry about. But with your 2-cancer history, we must be sure!!!!"
BIG hugs to you, my dear friend!
Kathi

Thoughts With You
Here is to hoping it is nothing. For what it is worth, I have sensitive lymph nodes from time to time, way (meaning decades) before cancer and nothing to do with cancer. Just something that happens for me from time-to-time for colds and other things.

It is a weird place for a node, in my humble opinion...and 'normal' me (before cancer) probably would not have even thought twice about it....
So I guess I should remember that....and keep up the positive thinking that this is nothing!!!!

Oh Darn It
That is just such devestaing news to me. I'm praying that it is something minor but thankful that you are on top of things. I'm wishing you well for everything ahead of you and hoping that your boyfriend is doing well also. You need your yearly travels so this little blip just better be a little blip.
Hugs! Kim

Hi Miss Kathi,
Just wanted you to know that Mom and I are thinking and praying for you to get some good news. I hope this is not anything serious. We are pulling for you.
Please take care.
Love you,
Linda and Mom
I am hopeful that it is just a minor thing....maybe even an injury due to a very heavy purse...
But I am feeling blessed from all the prayers and wishes from you and all others!!!
Hugs, Kathi

Yes, one of the few good things cancer has taught me is to be very vigilant!
My beau is doing incredibly well, thank you for your thoughts!!! In July, he celebrates 2 years with his new heart, and he out- runs, walks, and bikes me!!!!
We have arranged for a summer 'country switch' and hope that this thing is just something small...

Everything that was once normal seems to be potentially not. But sometimes a Zebra is just a Zebra
Wishing you the best.

dear Kathi, like you I'm a lurker, not much to offer, 4 years NED now. But when I saw your smiling face I knew I had to read. So glad your other halve is doing great.
yes, we all fear the worst when we have a bump, lump, pain, anything out the ordinary . Good for you to have it checked, better save then sorry later. I'm a firm believer in positive thinking, do I'm sending positive thoughts and lights your way.
i might fly to Holland in September , I have not been back for over 15 years and since my stepdad is still with us it is time to cross the ocean one more time.
scared out of my wits, because of unreliable bowel problems. Never know when it flares up and then to find a bathroom THAT minute, lol,in holland. If I go I would love to meet for a coffee. I will be in the Utrecht Area, Den Haag en also Leeuwarden. Are you anywhere close to any of those locations?
hugs and positive vibes, Marjan

Hey Kathi, sorry to hear about your node. Let's hope it's something simple like a pesky thyroid issue. I have one and my neck is always swelling.

sending love from the olde timers club........mags
