You all may be seeing more of me....testing has started....

I had slipped into the background here, having not much to offer with my diagnosis 10 years old...and all was fine.  I have been lurking, however...

So now:

A week ago, I was rubbing my left shoulder and felt one of the subclavial lymph nodes had grown to the size of an almond.  This lymph node could be something major....or something minor.  With my history of 2 primary cancers (rectal and breast), it could be either one of those, or potentially a new (!!!!) site.....or even Leukemia....I'm suddenly finding myself chanting "3 is a crowd!".

BIG kudos to my oncologist and her N/P......they are taking this VERY seriously, and scheduling many things STAT, including blood work, an ultrasound of my neck, and a biopsy of the node that is enlarged.

I will keep you all posted as I find things out....Dam terrorist cancer!!!!

Hugs, Kathi

Dear Kathi, I am praying for you and hope nothing serious. You are a warrior. You were active when I just joined the forum in 2009 when my husband got  his initial diagnosis. You have been always our inspiration. Best luck with everything. Hugs.

    Oh for goodness sakes!

I pray, pray, pray that this is nothing but an ordinary enlarged lymp node.  We are quite happy to have you here posting as a double survivor and nothing else.

I am holding you in my prayers that all is well, friend.

    Terrorist cancer

is right! From now on every little bump and pain has our minds racing, it's not fair but part of the new normal. I truly hope it's nothing and try not to do the 'what ifs' before you know anything. Best wishes and good luck!

You are very much in my

You are very much in my thoughts and prayers and I sure hope it is nothing of concern.  Prior to my surgery, I had a couple enlarged lymph nodes that showed up on the CT that the surgeon was pretty sure were going to be cancerous (though he didn't tell me this BEFORE the surgery).  Thankfully, they were not (confirmed by both Roswell and my second opinion at MSKCC).  Apparently my body was just pissed at...something.  Probably being poked and prodded so much :-P

Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience that there *IS* the possibility that it's nothing of concern.  I sure hope it will be for you!

....It means more than you know....

(Of course, as I always insisted last go-round 10 years ago, the N/P yesterday gave me every possibility....and managed to scare me stiff!!!  *smile*)

    My Friend, Kathi

I just came online and saw your message. I so HATE that you have discovered this lump. Hopefully it is just an infection, but glad that you and your medical team are proactive. I think of you and you beau often and hope he is doing well.

I continue to heal slowly from the shock of it all.

    Keep in touch.

    Luv Ya,

    Wolfen

thoughts and prayers. It seems so unfair that they can't remove the fear of cancer gene with the cancer. I'm praying it's nothing to worry about.

    I hope it's nothing. Cancer

I hope it's nothing. Cancer is a life sentence even if it never rears it's ugly head again because of the worrying. I used to think people were paranoid when they'd have something weird going on health wise and worry that it was cancer. Now I'd be the first one to encourage having things checked out. Almost 50% of people will get the diagnosis. The numbers are shocking and early detection is key.
