At witts end

Hi everyone glad to be here. Guess I just need to vent a little on being the caregiver to my husband. He has had MDS for 10 years and now it has progressed to RCMD. He has been getting transfusions which has now given him Iron Overload. Along with these diagnosis he also is type 1 diabetic and has emphysemia. He has developed a chronic cough. This cough is constant and I do mean constant! Along with this cough, he has developed a terrible breath smell to go along with it. I am at my witts end. He is on Vizada and Exjade along with all of his insulin and other medications. I am scared he has lung cancer. Finally there is a CAT scan scheduled for this week. Hopefully we will know more. Thanks for listening...

    Thank you

Thank you for your thoughts. My husband was hospitalized today because he couldn't breathe. At least he is getting care he needs. I hate to admit to this but it is a relief for me that he is not here right now...I think I needed a break. Thanks again for your thoughts.

    Hi DebbieSo sorry you are

    Hi Debbie

So sorry you are going through a rough time caring for your husband. Glad to hear he

was able to be admitted into

the hospital. Yes, that is where he needs to be! I lost my dad in 2010 to esophageal/liver cancer and my mom in

2013 to cardiac arrest. I was the sole caregiver for them both. My older brother lives in NJ, we are in Virginia. Do

not feel guilty about feeling relieved.  I too, do feel this same way most days. Caregiving is such a huge job, especially

on your own. Keep your chin up, have faith, and enjoy your break while you have it. All the best to your husband.
