Testicle Drawn Very Close To Body and Sometimes Painful

I am post-operative daVinci Robitic assisted prostatectomy.  Surgery in 2008.  This was followed by 39 radiation treatments as some of the cancer had escaped the capsule.  I don't remember if the pain in my left testicle started right after the surgery or if it was after the radiation.  At any rate I had pain so severe that at times it would radiate down my left leg to just above the knee.  The pain was the worst after what little sexual activity I was able to have (the surgery and/or the radiation left me impotent).  I asked the radiation oncologist about the pain and he said he had never heard of a case like mine.  The pain in the testicle is minimal now and most of the time I am not aware of any pain so I feel good about that.  The problem (if it is a problem) that I have noted for a while (I don't really know for how long) is that my left testicle is drawn up very tightly against my body.  Neither of them ever hung low but this is more than what it used to be.

Last week I had an appointment with a new physician.  When he did the hernia check he commented about the left testicle being so high and asked if it was always that way.  I just said that it tends to stay close to my body.  He did not make any further deal about it.  Perhaps it's because I'm moderately overweight, but I've been overweight most of my life.  I just started applying heat with a warm washcloth this evening.  I didn't notice much difference but plan to continue to see if it helps.

While I like my new doctor I don't much care for urologists and don't want to see one about this.  Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Thanks for any input.

    Hydrocele testis

    Just a note on your inquire;

    I do not know much on testicle conditions and problems to comment about your symptoms but you are not the first guy reporting on testicle conditions after PCa treatment.

    I wonder if you had sort of hydrocele testis which condition is due to retention of liquid in the scrotum causing a swelling. Once healed the condition would get its physical normalcy with a resultant of decreasing in size and retreating. This is a typical occurrence in infants but it also (rarely) occurs in adult males. You could inquire with your doctor on the above.

    You may also place the inquire in the forum dedicated to TC (http://csn.cancer.org/forum/156);
