Some good news...
Well, it turned out that Watchtower purchased the garden apartment complex where I moved dad and my brother 8 months ago. The complex had a month to month lease, so when we got the eviction notice. I inquired and was told the apartments are going to be used for Jehovah Witnesses, so they wanted everyone out. I did manage to get a 30 day extension, so it will be less stressful on dad and my brother. I found a 2 bedroom ground floor apartment even closer to my brother's doctors and his hospital, and closer to town. It's a much older building, and the apartment is a little smaller, but we have a 1 year lease this time. The landlord is a great guy who placed them at the top of the list because he felt it was an emergency. He also felt that he was giving back since dad is a WWII vet. I feel very lucky to have found this so quickly. It stinks tht they have moving expenses yet again, but the new owners are within their rights to kick them out. It may not be the ethical thing to do, but it is legal. I was angry at first, but now I am just looking at this as being meant to be. Since it's closer to town and dad can no longer drive, this will give them more freedom to go into town (the bus stops nearby).
Dad's blood pressure was giving us a problem, but I guess with all this going on, it's expected. It's under control now. My brother is doing well. He goes for chemo every other week and seems to be tolerating it well. No new growths so far. I hate to be Debbie Downer, but I keep waiting for the other shoe to fall. Will the chemo stop working eventually? How long can it keep the tumors at bay? I try to be positive, but I have to admit, lately my brother just doesn't look great. They say he's fine, tests come back okay, but he looks pale and just doesn't look right to me. I know I have to keep staying positive, but I do worry about him. I just hope this move isn't too much on them both.
My daughter had a baby boy last month. I spent a few weeks in Florida waiting for her big boy to be born. he was 9 lbs 5 ozs and she is only 5'2". Big babies run in the family. I was 9 lbs 4 ozs and my son was 10 lbs. Both my daughter and grandson are doing fine. Now I have a granddaughter and a grandson. i am blessed. When I'm having a bad day, I take out their pictures and count my blessings.
I think of you all often. I pray for a cure. This disease sucks!
Take care,
Love,
Lin

First off
Congratulations to you for becoming a grandmother to a lovely baby boy .
And, even though you have to move dad & brother again, I am happy to hear that you have found an appartment near Doctor's, hospital, bus stop and you.
Let us know when the move is, and I will pray for a safe and uneventful time for dad, brother and you.

I love being a grandma! It brightens my day. I only wish the grandbabies lived closer.
They will be moving either May 20th or May 22nd, depending on the mover estimates. I should know by the end of next week. One saving grace is that we put a lot of stuff in storage to declutter, so the move should be easier.
Thank you for always being such a great support. Your words mean so much to me.

Good news always welcome
I am so very glad that you have been able to find a place for your father and brother. While it may be smaller, it sounds like you have found a good landlord.
Congratulations on the family addition. Happy to hear that they are doing well.
As for your brother, if you think he is not looking as good as he should, so with your gut and ask for details on blood work. It could be his counts are down but not what they consider of concern. It doesn't take much.
Hope that once the move is accomplished, that dad and bro will settle in fine and bounce back from the stress.
Take care of you too.

I finally started all my check ups. I have been staying positive. So far my brother's blood work is fine.
They have a little deck that they can sit on and watch what's going on. I'm going to pick up some chairs so they can sit there and enjoy the view.
I'm going to stay positive. His blood work has been fine. I know my brother for 50 years, so I know he just doesn't look quite right, but maybe it's just all the stress of moving.
Thank you for being there for me. Sometimes I feel guilty feeling so stressed out when I know my brother is facing so much.

Don't feel guilty about being stressed out. You have a lot on your plate.
Great idea about getting them chairs so they can sit outside. Sunshine is good and can lift the spirits as well as the body. Make sure you get 3 so that you can join them sometimes!

sitting out on that deck will get some sun and the vitamin D generated will be good for him. He probably looks a little off because he's on chemo. I never felt or looked normal when I was on it. Congratulations on the grand baby! All in all it sounds like things are moving in the right direction, enjoy this drama free time!

Hope things get settled soon
The thought of moving is so daunting. I'm sure he will feel better when it's done. Grandbabies are the best!!! Congratulations. We are up to 10 grands from 21 to 2. I've taugh them all to respond "like my Nana" whenever someone said something good about them. Good luck with the move.

Thanks everyone!
I'm just taking things one day at a time. My brother's been on chemo for such a long time now, he just doesn't look right. He goes for blood work on Wednesday and has chemo Thursday, so I'll chat with the doctor to see what she thinks. Maybe his body is just tired of all this crap!
It was beautiful here in the northeast yesterday, so they took a nice walk around the complex. Sometimes just getting out into the fresh air helps. Dad's mood was improved and I think he's actually looking forward to the move. Things will start getting better. I have to believe that.

ps- Yolanda, I'll have to remember to teach the grandbabies that!
They light up my life! I feel blessed!
