I haven't gotten to meet someone my age who has had to deal with having cancer and would really love to talk to someone.

Just had my first appointmentwmc said:You might send a PM to....kjp37
KJP37 is 19 and I belive he in the UK. You might send him a PM and contact him. There is alsg a young lady 28 who is going through this as well.
Been a month and 2 days and will loose the front 2/3 of my tongue although I should still be able to swallow and talk with a impediment (although it may be a improvement to what it is now). That will probably happen next month just before my exams.

Although that will most likely change the closer I get to the surgery. Mostly glad that I should still be able to swallow, I don't really talk much so a impairment in my speech will probably not have a huge impact with me. Plus I have lots of uncertainty about radiation and my exams but if I get out of hospital in time I should still be able to do the important ones.

km and kjp, i'm am so very sorry that you are in this battle. it always makes me a little more sad when the new members are so young. kjp, I wish you the very best with your surgery and i pray the transition will not be too rough on you. i pray you will learn to like the "new" you and go on living at full speed. km, i don't know what your tx will be but i am also praying for you. you will both get through this but you are in for a rough ride. stay strong and stay positive, that will help a lot!
God bless you both.
