    The N.E.D Movie showcases

The N.E.D Movie showcases several Gyn Onc Drs that have started awareness of women's cancers by forming a band. They made a movie about the drs and their stuggles with their pateients and performing in the band.

NED, A Vibrant Band Of Doctors Rocking For Women With Cancer

N.E.D. is a doctor’s old shorthand for remission. It’s also the name of a rock band that’s breaking the silence surrounding gynecological cancers, conditions that some women still hesitate to mention: cancer of the cervix, ovary, uterus, vagina and vulva.

No Evidence of Disease is what an oncologist might say when there’s no sign of malignancy in a person who’s had cancer treatment. After a “clean” scan or a bone marrow test, it’s a phrase many patients love to hear. Or scream.

If you watch NED perform, you might appreciate this phenomenon. The band’s vibrancy is driven in part by its unusual relationship with the audience. The musicians are all board-certified specialists in women’s cancers. Many of their followers, or Nedheads, have been affected by cancer. When the doctors get on stage, people smile and start dancing. When it’s time for an encore, you can hear old women shouting “NED! NED! NED!”

    NED

Dr. Nagarsheth, is my Doc. from the band.  He is also the Director of Robotic surgery. Yes they are all specialists.  Great group. I went to many of their concerts. The last one was called "come together" Beatles.

I heard about it on this site

I heard about it on this site but had not seen it. Funny how things pop up on tv when you least expect it to. I normally would have been asleep at 3 am but the shingles are srill keeping me up. The hydrocodone is not helping much either but the worst part, the blisters are gone just have the dried up scabs which itch like  crazy. I want to get their cds because it seems they include a book of facts and symptoms for all female below the belt cancers. If I can find them low enough then I will buy multiple copies and give to female friends. Wishing all pleasant dreams and sleepful night. Trish

    This is on in Indianapolis

This was pretty good.  I have been to the race in Washington and will be there this November.  It has definitely grown over the few years it has been around.  The program had its very sad, poignant moments, but it was nice that it was not all sad and depressing.  It had a nice balance.
