Good news Bad news

The good news is I had my second set of scans this past week and met with the oncologist and all good all clear, I am to be scanned again in 6 months. The bad news is I lost a very good friend this week to the evil of cancer. She went to a local hospital in February to have her gall bladder removed (routine so we thought) when they took her into the OR they decided not to take her gall bladder but instead do a biopsy, she was told later the biopsy was cancerous and she should go elsewhere for treatment, her husband was able to get her an appt at MSKCC, upon further testing she was told the cancer was in her gall bladder, bile ducts and liver, she was scheduled for a trial chemo as well as a standard chemo. The trial chemo was never administered and cancelled after two false positive pregnancy test results. The standard chemo was to start on March 6th however her blood counts were so off they admitted her to the hospital instead, the next day I recieved a call from her husband saying there would be no treatment, the cancer had also spread to her lungs and he was told to take her home and keep her comfortable. She spent the weekend in the hospital and was sent home in an ambulette I was able to see her twice the week she spent at home, she deteriorated quickly and passed on Monday, one week after arriving home. This has been a very sad week and I stil can't wrap my head around her being gone, so quickly and with no treatment.
