Diabetes insipidus, anyone?

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has had to deal with diabetes insipidus. My husband has it as a result of his tumor and it is what causes problems. Since diagnosis we have landed in emergency and then hospitalized 4 times. Every single time it was due to high or low sodium in the blood. His sodium gets out of balance if he drinks too much or too little and if he urinates too much or too little. Sometimes it is obvious this is happening but others it isn't.

Any recommendations on how to deal with this would be greatly appreciated.

i've never read anything like that.  I am praying the doctors can figure this out and your hubby feels better very soon.

    God bless you,

I too had never heard of this...

I have no advice, but I am sorry he is going through this. I hope they can get it stable very soon as it sounds terrible. We'll keep you both in my prayers.

    Yes you will....

My Mother always said, God will never give you more than you can handle". I do think he pushes real close at times, but never to much yet.

not sure if this will help

Are you working with a nephrologist ?  (kidney specialist ?)  Keeping a good balance in our systems is such an important part of healing.  His diet and fluid intake may need tweeking a bit.  I know this isn't diabetes as such, but similar.  Just an idea to ask about.  Best sent, Katie
