I must be getting more patience!!
Get to Target, Of course my Ins says no, after 2 hours and an conference call they allow thhe 30 day supply.
This is a different maker on the generic. I changed the pad and was out of ot and so nauseated.
While at Target when I went back to pick up rx. A lady behind me steps up and says why are you on this? The teck says excuse me you need to be behind the line. So she asks again. I said cancer. She says, WELL, I have bc mets and have a met to my right hip. My orig dr gave me this for pain. I got a new dr. who weaned me off. Where are your tumors. I said everywhere and tried to be nice as I finished the transaction. My son came up to us then.
She asked him where my tumors are, he said everywhere. And just.nudged me forward. She said that was wrong. You get mets.in one.area.she was told. Told him He had to get.me to a hospital, they were trying to get me hooked to make money off me. She was in her 60's? Said her daughter was on it for bc mets too, and she wont stop them. I asked where her daughter had mrts, she said a spt on her hip also, but her dr wont change ether.
She kind of followed me ou the door of Target.
I dont know if I have a face that says crazy's talk to me!
But I had more patience than usual.

Put on new patch!
New patch hadnt used b4 from diff. manufacturer. Was same dosage, glue was the best of any of the patches, but it was also like way stronger. Have needed anti-nausea and havr been dizzy. Like when I went frm 75 to 100 mcg. Hope when I chg it now I dont go thru that again. Didnt feel like I can drive. Hopefully I will not wake up nauseated and with that high feeling. Made a pact with myself to go to mass every week i Lent!
Has anyone experienced this with diff generic brands of pain meds?0 -
Why don't people mind their own business?
I want to slap that lady for you. These stories make me crazy. We all need to have faith in our oncologists, but she either didn't hear correctly or he's just dead wrong. You know better! Just another example of how we need to learn as much as we can about our own health. For the most part, our physicians doen't even think about us until 2 minutes before they enter the exam room and then sometimes we have to remind them that we're on X or Y medicine when the medical record is right in front of them or we have X or Y type of cancer.
I have a good friend with mets from kidney cancer. She said she really didn't want to know anything and would just do what the doctor says. Now 8 months later, I think she is well informed about her health. She does have a very communicative health care team and she listens and understands and I have a feeling she's done a little research on her own because she really makes informed decisions.

I already mentally slapped her.
Just saying.

SNAFU's
So proud of you for your Patience Dear Camul*** And hope you will be able to go to Mass as often as you want during Lent....but don't beat yourself up if you can't make it one day because I believe that Our Lord absolutely cuts us some slack when we need it. The mixup with your meds is a terrible thing and they do not understand how important they are to you sometimes...but it worked out and you got what you needed and that is a good thing. You are blessed with a wonderful Son. I have two sons but they both live at a distance from me....one in CA and the other about 3 hours South. No daughters. Anyway.......May God Bless You and Keep You.... You are in my Prayers.

I got my script in the mail. Surprize! It was only a one month supply but they charged me for a 90 day. So I called OptimRX and they said bcuz the state of Utah only allows them to send out a one month supply. I said so you will sent the next 2 months automatically. She said no! It will be 80. a month. it is 40 @ Target. Got spvr on line. She said I would just absorb the difference, they made a mistake, I can continue to get this and Atavan at Target. After about 15 minutes of me not backing down, she refunded me the 40. difference.
I asked if it is so unusual, she said most ppl just accept the price. I laughed and saud I am not most ppl!!!:)) So they credited the card 40. Amazing whay they get away with.
So they called in Warfarin to costco yesterday for 90 day. I called to make sure it was ready. I ask the cash price. 20.09 for 90 pills. I said ok I will be there to pick it up tomorrow. He said well I am running it thru your ins. it is 30. for 90 pills. I said no thank you, I pay cash price. He said well it is already set thru ins. I said no, why would I use ins when it is 10. more. He said with a hmph, I will have it changed to cash. I said thank you, and I apologize if it was so much more work. He said no, he just had to run it as cash and they dont do that til I pick it up, he j said he put it in for 30 pills not the 90 that script was for. I asked him to note that I get all the scripts there for cash and 90 days. It is already noted, said he automatically runs it thru ins. I asked if it is usually less to go thru ins. he said no!.
I guess most people do not ask the diff in price! I know it took a pharacist calling me to tell me it was 4. cash price or 10. ins co-pay price, which did I want to do (that was for vit D over a year ago)..
SO I AM REMINDING PPL TO ASK CASH PRICE WHEN USING INSURANCE! PHARMACIST TOLD ME, MOST MEDS THAT HAVE GENERICS OR HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR A WHILE MAY BE LESS NOT GOING THRU SOME INSURANCES!!!0
