possible prostrate infection after kidney removal
Good Morning:
I wrote before regarding my husband who had a kidney removed in Febraury. He now has a possible prostrate infection. I say possible because that
was the doctors diagnosis. We went in yesterday thinking a uti from foley catheher. Anyway doctor put him on a strong antibiotic which would take care
of either problem. Does this sound familiar to anyone. He has 100.4 temp, pain when urinating, nauseau and just feeling like crap! Than ks for any
insight.

Yes, this seems reasonable
According to the internet, this seems reasonable. I know my husband has some prostate issues (very temporary) as a result of the foley catheter (not infection).
Catheters cause infecdtions and one in the prostate would not be unheard of. If you just google prostate infections, there is a lot of info on them.
How's he doing? If the antibiotic doesn't work, they should be able to do some culturing or imaging testing to gain further info.
I'm not a doctor, but did read some articles online.
