Letter from Doris (Sirod) son
In Memory of Doris
A little envelope from Maine was waiting for me today. By looking at its return address I could not figure it out. I opened ... it was a handwritten letter from Doris (Joanne) son. His letter is about Joanne unexpected death even she was sick it has been hard for the family. Dori's son is very thankfull to everyone who provided friendship and support to his mother during her time on this board while fighting cancer. He is very appreciateve to CSN members who sent Christmas ornaments and greeting cards this year
He wants you to know that Joanne (Doris) went well, easy and is at rest. In his words " she went out like a champ, surrounded by those who loved her".
This letter is very touching and unique. I hope you will take a moment remembering Doris who was a very strong fighter and shared her knowledge and experience to many survivors.

Thanks so much for posting this. One person reaching out to another can make a huge difference. L
Just this week, as a matter of fact, I remember her words, that 70% of us go on with no further problems. And when I received my mammogram results via email, it was Doris who told me I no longer had to sit around at the mercy of doctors, I could have results sent to me.
She shared so much valuable knowledge with us.
She was a treasure and I miss her.

Thank you for sharing...
We each know, certainly, what we gain by being present here. We can't always know that what we give actually means something to someone.
I'm deeply touched by this. Amidst grief & mourning, he spent time, made effort, to write & send a personal note of appreciation. In loving memory of his mother - our friend, Doris.
Heartwarming.
Kind regards, Susan

I am touch deeply by her son's letter. Doris presence here on our boards, is missed.
I appreciate, and treasure each and every Sister in PINK here on our boards and outside that has enriched my life, soul and knowledge.
With so many things wrong with our World, I can not mentally grasp why these most wonderful Warriors must leave us.
Difficult to say good bye to my treasured Friends.
Strength, Courage and HOPE for a Cure.
