    Todd hope all goes well with your surgery. You have our prayers! I go into City of Hope also next Wednesday to have my right kidney removed. I believe we have the same surgeon Dr Lau. He is very good!

    You have helped me feel more confident going into my surgery. I know you will do okay!

    The only one I thought was cute was named Michael. :) Hahaha.

    Of course there was a really nice, supportive nurse who I think took a liking to me. She seemed a tad disappointed when I said I could wash myself, thank you very much. OK. I appreciate help, but the third time she asked if I was sure, a bit annoying.

    She was a big help to me. She wouldn't let the doctor release me until they had a plan to control my BP. I'm really glad she was there.

    It's not as bad as the nephrectomy. I didn't realize the adrenal gland is actually attached to the diaphram. So the surgery was really close to the diaphram. Deep breaths don't feel too good. Still, this is all better than the alternative! Thanks!

    my husband had the adrenal removed with the nephrectomy and did not have cancer. The gland was not (no anatomical knowledge) but it was not attached to the kidney. The tumor was in the upper left pole of the right kidney.

    good news Todd

    hang in there ... i had an opposite experience from yours...when my kidney was removed last summer i had no idea going in they were taking the adrenal gland but they did...not certain if i feel good about that or not but they can't unremove it...
