Lost my mother in law to ATC
Lost my mother in law two days ago to ATC. She fought hard but it still took her. It was a horrible way to go. It is a awful illness that robbed her of her life.

i'm so sorry for your loss. I pray for your healling and I hope you don't mind me asking some questions. My friend was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and just had her thyroid removed at Mayo yesterday. PET scan showed a second type of cancer in breast but not 'metastisis" Info out there is not very positive
How long from diagnosis til her passing was it? Did she have her thyroid removed? What kind of treatment did she do?

She had her thyroid removed back in 2000 thats when she was diagnoised with pappilary thyroid cancer. It came back ten years later and they kept removing the lymp nodes but it just kept coming back. The last time it came back in spring of 2013 it came back aggessive. They first said it was sarcoma but she got a second opinion and it came back ATC. She passed away in May of 2014.
