Flushing of face and chest
Had my first chemo today. Did pretty good so far. Had herceptin, perjeta, carboplatin and taxotere. On way home about an hour from chemo dr. Noticed my face and neck were red and hot like a sunburn. No fever. Called dr on call and he said could be from decadron (steroid). Has anyone else had this problem

Yes
Yes I did get a flushed face the same day as chemo..........most each time. My first chemo was a disaster and I had chills & shakes and a fever of 105 degrees....had to call 911............but after that first day they changed my nausea med and it never happened again....just the flushed face and neck...but no fever. My fevers came each time later...about day ten I would get a low grade fever and have to take an antibiotic ...they gave me Levaquin. Prayers for no more problems for you. Glo

I flushed too
Yup, steroid flush here too with every chemo treatment. I couldn't use my forehead thermometer - it kept reading that I had a fever and had to buy a digital oral thermometer to use during chemo.

yes -- red faced and a few days latercamul said:Yes.
I got the steroid flush with each treatment. Weekly for 2 1/2 years. Sure beat being nauseted though. Was over with the next day! Glad you did well with your chemo cocktail. Hope it all continues so well.
Carolacne -- yes, pimples! ... please keep all side efforts written down, and contact your Oncologist --
Hoping your red 'flashing' doesnt last longer than 3 or 4 hours.
Strength, Courage and HOPE for a Cure.
