Hello  everyone!

I'm new on these board, not a patient myself, but a caregiver. English is not my native language, so apologies for possible mistakes.

I'd like to say thank you all very-very much for this forum, for good advise, positivity and support you give to all newbies here.

Here's our family's story - my fiancée was diagnosed with Hepatitis C this October.Doctor requested abdominal ultrasound to check the liver, liver was Ok, but 2 cm tumor was found on right kidney. CT scan and visit to urologist followed. It was Avery stressfull time at first, especially taking intoaccount that I wapregnant with our first kid after years of infertility and 2 miscarriages. But I was lucky to find this forum in the very beginning of our journey. It gave me great support and firm belief that we would win this fight.

My fiancé had surgery on 15DEC, histology showed a very small clear cell carcinoma, fully confined to kidney, Fuhrman grade 1. A truly great result, as I know from these boards. The doctor ensured us that my fiancée will have along happy life and our baby will have a healthy father. I was more than happy to hear it.

So I have no words to truly express my gratitude to you all, especially those who post here regularly and support others with their strength and positivity!

THANK YOU, you are amazing, and I wish you many NED years to come. If not NED - let the disease be controlled and do not prevent you from enjoying life!

    Great news

Your husband's diagnosis is pretty much the best news one can get!  Nobody wants Hepatitis, but sometimes you have to thank things you normally wouldn't want to thank (in my case it was an angry gallbladder).  It can be a very stressful time and for me it was kind of like a dream... a bad one, but one with a decent outcome.  Sounds like you guys will be ok for a long time.

    As good as it gets

Having a 2 cm tumor removed with a good path resort is as good as it gets for having had (past tence of has) Kidney Cancer.

Make sure he watches his weight and blood pressure down the road (for good kidney function) and gets regular scans, just in case.

I am sure he will enjoy the grandchildren when the time comes.

Thank you all for the nice words! Advises and wisdom provided by you all here are priceless, it was all we needed to calm down, start fighting and believe in good outcome.

And yes, crazy as it sounds, but we are grateful to Hep C as well Smile
