Joy in our lives
Today I fly across the country to meet my newborn grandson (first grandchild.) 7 1/2 years ago, a dr told me that I "had" a maximum of 5 years due to my "Garden Variety Stage 4 Colon Cancer" (his exact words.)
I celebrate, and wish all of us here some joy, peace, health, and happiness.
Sharing the joy, and letting new members know that as devastating as a cancer diagnosis is, don't get caught up in statistics. Real people make up the group with the good outcomes as well!
Wishing joyous holidays to all!
Alice

Congratulations!
Congratulations on both your 7 1/2 years and a new grandbaby!
I agree, statistics have an down side and an up side. Being on the up side is always possible.
I wish all who find their way here, patients as well as caregivers, may find comfort in being among those who can understand their fears and feelings.
May the new year bring giant strides in a cure for all cancers.
Hugs to you Alice, and many more years to living life.

Yes to the Grandbabies!
I got my first Grandbabies x 2 May of this year. I got to be in the delivery room. Two girls, Harper and Lucy are the best sweet things in the world. I never knew how much grandbabies can make you happy. Have a great visit Alice.

Congrats on your new grandchild. I am a new member here I have recently been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and the only thing I think about are my 2 beautiful grandbabies. How do you get through each day wondering how long you will have with them? You are the first person I have communicated to I am very new at this. God Bless you and your new grandbaby.
